STRATEGY. STORY. GROWTH.

Let's figure out what's next.

I help owner operated businesses in Redding and Shasta County find opportunities, solve growth problems and build the strategy, brand and content to take the business further.

A relaxed 45 minute conversation about your business, with no cost and no pressure.

Three decades directing creative for LucasArts, EA and Atari, with more than 45 shipped titles across Star Wars, The Matrix, Clone Wars and Terminator. Now helping local businesses get people to care.

More than marketing

Most owners are too busy working in the business to see the bigger picture.

I help them do that. I look at where the business is today, where you want to take it, and what may be standing in the way. Then I help build what's needed to get there.

Sometimes that means better content. Other times it means fixing a Google Business Profile, repositioning a service, uncovering a new customer opportunity, or rethinking where your time is going.

  • Identify the blind spotsSee what may be quietly costing you customers.
  • Uncover opportunitiesFind the growth that's been hiding in plain sight.
  • Retain and attract customersKeep the customers you have and win the right new ones.
  • Build messaging and contentSay the right thing, in a way people remember.
  • Scale with confidenceGrow with a clear plan behind every move.

Who this is for

Built for owners who are ready for their next chapter.

  • You run an established business with steady customers and real room to grow.
  • You spend most of your time in the business and rarely get to plan its future.
  • You've tried marketing before and aren't sure what actually paid off.
  • You see an opportunity, like a new service or customer group, but don't yet have a plan to capture it.
  • You'd rather have one trusted partner than a handful of disconnected vendors.

What I do

Four areas that work as one plan.

Every engagement follows the same order. Strategy shapes the brand, the brand guides the content, and an ongoing partnership keeps it all moving. The work always starts with thinking, not deliverables.

1

Business growth strategy

Stepping back from the day to day to look at the business objectively.

  • Where are the opportunities?
  • What's underperforming or overlooked?
  • Where should your time go?
  • What needs to change first?
2

Brand and positioning

Deciding how the world should see your business once the direction is clear.

  • Messaging and differentiation
  • Google Business Profile
  • Website and social presence
  • Photography and video
3

Content and marketing

Creating the work that communicates the strategy. Nothing gets made just because businesses are supposed to post.

  • Video and photography
  • Social and campaign content
  • AI assisted creative
  • Educational content
4

Ongoing growth partnership

An outside creative and growth director who stays on, instead of delivering a batch of content and disappearing.

  • What's working?
  • What's changing?
  • What are we missing?
  • What's the next opportunity?

A local example. A Redding practice wanted to grow its Department of Transportation (DOT) exam business. On the surface it looked like a marketing problem. The real blocker was the owner's time. The plan starts there, freeing his schedule and bringing in help for existing patients, and then building and elevating the brand, Google presence and content to reach more CDL drivers and trucking fleets.

How it works

A simple path from first conversation to lasting growth.

It starts with a conversation, moves into a focused engagement, and continues as a partnership for owners who want to keep growing.

1

Discovery conversation

About 45 minutes, complimentary

You share where you want to take the business, what feels like it's in the way, what you've already tried, and where your time goes each week.

I listen for what sits beneath the surface, because the problem an owner brings in is often a symptom of something deeper. You leave with a clearer picture of what may be holding the business back.

2

Growth engagement

30 days

A focused engagement that takes the business from insight to action. Strategy and execution happen together, so the plan never sits on a shelf.

  • Week one: discover and planA close look at the business, customers, digital presence and operations, ending with a clear growth strategy.
  • Weeks two through four: build and launchPositioning, messaging, Google Business Profile, website updates and launch content.

The 30 days begin once I have managerial access to your website, Google Business Profile and social accounts, along with time scheduled with you and your team. I will never ask for passwords or sensitive authorizations. Only managerial or team access.

3

Growth partner

Ongoing, monthly

Monthly strategy sessions, fresh content and clear reporting on what's working, so we can adjust quickly and catch the next opportunity early.

Partner spots are intentionally limited so every client gets my full attention.

Every engagement is shaped around your business and the growth it's designed to create. We'll talk through what fits during your discovery conversation.

The craft

When it's time to create, the content is built to be noticed.

Strategy decides what gets made. Thirty years of cinematic craft decides how it looks and feels.

Why Soderwall Studio

More of the right customers. More of your time back. One partner who builds the whole plan.

Plenty of people understand business. Others understand marketing, branding, content, production, AI or creative direction. Very few bring all of those together, and fewer still have spent a career where having the idea was never enough.

Where I come from, the expectation was always to make the idea work, on schedule, for audiences in the millions. That's what I bring to a local business: one partner who can see the whole picture and build every piece of it.

Mark Soderwall, founder and creative strategist

I've spent my career building things people notice.

For more than 30 years I directed cinematics and creative teams in AAA games, shipping more than 45 titles. I built teams, developed visual identities, taught game art and animation at the college level, and spoke on the TEDx stage.

Through all of it, one question never changed. How do you get people to care? It matters just as much to a local business as it does to a global entertainment brand, and it's the question I bring to every owner I work with.

  • Art directed for George Lucas on Star Wars Battlefront and The Force Unleashed
  • Worked with Dave Filoni on Clone Wars
  • Worked with the Wachowskis on Enter the Matrix
  • Worked with Arnold Schwarzenegger on Terminator 3: War of the Machines
  • Plus Dungeons and Dragons, LEGO and Riddick

I help business owners connect the dots between where their business is, where they want it to go, and how they need to show up in the marketplace to get there.

Soderwall Studio is a business growth, brand and creative partner for owners who know they're ready to grow but need help figuring out what comes next, and bringing it to life.
